About the program:

The Financial Literacy program is a four-part educational workshop designed to equip journalists, high school students and creative industry with essential financial knowledge and skills. The sessions will cover key financial concepts in a practical and engaging way. The first workshop introduces fundamental topics such as the difference between money and capital, the role of central banks, inflation and deflation, digital vs. physical currency, and the importance of saving.

Participants will also explore modern financial instruments like cryptocurrencies and green bonds. A hands-on segment will cover interest rates, saving plans, and basic financial calculations. The second workshop delves into investing, the variety of investment options, insurance policies, and the cost of money, including opportunity costs. It includes practical exercise in creating a business plan. The third session focuses on budgeting—both personal and business—and its importance for financial planning and development strategies, followed by a practical exercise in creating and evaluating a budget.

The final workshop addresses loans and credit, interest rates, banking products, financial rights for minors, and data protection. Journalists (first group), students (second group) and creatives (third group) will also learn how to calculate loan payments and develop a repayment plan. By the end of the program, participants will be better prepared to make informed financial decisions, manage their money wisely, and avoid common financial pitfalls such as debt, fraud, or risky online behavior.
