About the event:

“The United Nations General Assembly designated January 27 – the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau – as International Holocaust Remembrance Day, a time to remember the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust and the millions of other victims of Nazi persecution”, says the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.

This year we are commemorating the 81st year anniversary of the end of the Holocaust. The United States liberated Nazi concentration camps, led the Nuremberg Trials, which brought Nazi mass murderers to justice, led in drafting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and built the international system meant to prevent future atrocities.

On January 27, starting from 5 PM, we will talk about the historical facts that should never be forgotten and have a documentary screening in our space.

We will commemorate the International Holocaust Remembrance Day (IHRD) and the U.S. Days of Holocaust Remembrance as a part of the America’s 250th Anniversary – A Moment of Reflection and Renewal, to emphasize why it is important to counter Holocaust distortion and denial, which are pernicious forms of antisemitism.

This program will be in English language.
